ISAEP

Individual Student Alternative Education Plan Program

The Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) program is designed for those students who are at least 16 years of age and enrolled in high school programs who are having difficulty finding success in a regular classroom environment. ISAEP Staff:

 

Elliot Barr

Mr. Barr is the ISAEP Lead Test Coordinator and Social Studies/RLA Instructor. He is a graduate of Virginia State University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Social Studies and a minor in Civil War studies. Mr. Barr has been a Richmond Alternative School teacher for seven years, is a native of Richmond, and a graduate of Huguenot High School. He enjoys podcasting, reading, and watching soccer in his free time. He can be reached at ebarr@rvaschools.net.

 

Lawrence Green

Mr. Green is the Post-Secondary Liaison. The VCU alumnus graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science and minored in Media Studies. His current enrollment at VCU in the dual master's program in social work and public health allows him to provide networking opportunities for our students. As a self-proclaimed foodie, Mr. Green loves to try new restaurants around Richmond and end his days by laughing at his favorite streaming service shows. I am so excited to be working with the ISEAP students to assist with employment and develop an after-GED plan. Please do not be afraid to say hello! Together we can finish the year strong. Joy Kraynak

Ms. Kraynak received her Bachelor's in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University. One of her teachers from that school regularly appears on National Geographic's Sharkfest and Sharkfest is awesome. Ms.Kraynak has been teaching GED Math and Science for six years. She enjoys GED students and teaching GED is her favorite teaching assignment so far. She can be reached at jkraynak@rvaschools.net.

 

Shirley Moore

Ms. Moore is a returning educator to Richmond City Public Schools here at Richmond  Alternative School in the ISAEP GED Program. She began teaching in 2007 as an Exceptional Education Teacher with RPS. In 2015 she left RPS and began teaching in Henrico County Public Schools and returned to RPS in 2019. Here at RAS in the ISAEP GED Program she is the Orientation/Enrollment Coordinator and an Exceptional Education Teacher. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she received my Undergraduate Degree and received her Graduate Degree from Averett University. Her greatest joy is educating students, educating students is my passion.  Here at RAS we are Reaching Accelerating and Supporting students through ISAEP and Spartan Academy!
